Secondary Update
Year 10 Drone Incursion
Last Tuesday, the Year 10 iSTEM class were involved in a whole day of drone competitions. Teams of two were presented with an indoor obstacle course and tasked with programming their drone in block code to perform the course in the shortest time possible, with penalties for missed obstacles and distance from the landing zone. At first the drones proved temperamental and hard to move through the obstacles, but effort, collaboration and quite a bit of trial and error saw all teams closely battling it out for most progress and best score. The day was capped off with the teams being asked to complete the same course, flying their drones manually. Scores from both competitions were added and a clear winning team emerged in Ryder Doran and Nicholas Kaye, whom remark on the day below.

The drone competition between the Year 10 iSTEM class was a great day to learn about how to program and fly drones around an obstacle course. It was also a great day to have fun with your friends and use teamwork to work together to complete the course. It was a great experience to overcome obstacles with our teammates and work together to get the best time.
