A huge thank you to Steve Carrigg and the friends committee for organising the Friends Trivia Night which took place on the weekend. It was a wonderful evening of fun, friend-raising and fundraising. Approximately 80 people attended, with most joining in the ‘Australiana’ theme for the evening. Congratulations to all involved in what was a wonderful community event. Thank you also to all our sponsors, who provided prizes for our raffles and competitions. The evening was great success and raised over $2100 for the Friends of EAC.
Last week our Secondary Concert Band competed at the Lismore Eisteddfod taking out their section with two outstanding performances. The Band was award a score of 94, which was the highest score awarded throughout the entire Eisteddfod. Congratulations to all our Secondary Concert Band players and once again to Mr Adam Holmes for his remarkable efforts with the band program
Our Secondary Tournament of Minds team did themselves, the College and our region very proud in finishing a close second at the State Championships held in Sydney over the weekend. Competing in the Science and Technology Challenge, the students were applauded for their innovative and creative response to the challenge. Congratulations to Hamish Walker, Lachlan Walker, Scarlett Donovan, Ella Peart, Oliver Payne, Cheryl Charles and Georgie Watson who have worked creatively and collaboratively for more than two months in preparation for the event. Special mention must also go to Mrs Felicity Regan who has supported the students throughout their preparation, giving up numerous hours after school and on weekends, including travelling to Sydney, to support and guide the team.
A reminder to all families that our end of term Whole College Chapel Service will take place next week on Thursday 21 September commencing at 9.00am. Please join us at St Mary’s Anglican to celebrate the Graduation of the Class of 2017. I also ask that you keep Year 11 in your thoughts and prayers this week as they participate in their Year 11 Leadership Retreat and prepare to select the Students Leadership Team to lead the student body over the next 12 months.

Kindy Links
The Pre-kindy students enjoyed a visit to the Kindergarten classroom as part of our Book Week celebrations last week. We read 'Go Home Cheeky Animals' which was one of this year's Children's Book Council of Australia award winners. The students then used 3 Thinking Hats to explore the story further and recorded their ideas using drawings.

Tennis
The Tennis Championships were a very competitive competition with an increased participation from last years event. Players were divided into pools for a Round Robin, with the top players then progressing to quarter finals and finals. There were many high quality and competitive matches on the day. Our overall results were excellent with most players reaching at least the quarter final stages of the tournament. Well done to all of our players.
Congratulations to the following students on gaining places at the Championships:
