Child Safety and Wellbeing

Statement of Commitment

Emmanuel Anglican College recognises the dignity of every child and is committed to providing a culture in an environment where the safety, respect, wellbeing and empowerment of all young people is paramount. All children who come to the College have the right to feel and be safe, to participate in decisions which affect them, and to be taken seriously.

The College’s approach to creating and maintaining a child safe and child friendly environment is guided by our values and beliefs, and the NSW Child Safe Standards. Child safety is embedded in our leadership, governance and culture. It is at the heart of all that we do.

The College has a zero tolerance for child abuse and other harm. We regard our child protection responsibilities with the utmost importance and commit to providing the necessary education, training and resources to foster a child safe culture, ensuring compliance with child protection legislation and keeping all children safe.

Each member of the College community has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role they play - both individually and collectively, to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all students is at the forefront of every decision we make. This is fundamental to our shared journey of learning, living and leading.
