Exciting New Additions

A great deal of work has taken place over the term break to enhance the learning environment and I am sure the students will be delighted with the additions that have taken place. Stage 2 of the primary play area has been completed with the addition of a large sand play area. The L Block has been refurbished with new paint, carpet and blinds. New furniture will also be added later in the term. The learning spaces upstairs in the Joan Pickup Library have also been refurbed with the old movable wall been replaced by glass walls. Library Seminar Room 3 has been converted into a ‘Maker Space’ and will become a specialist STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) room and will be a centre for robotics and other similar initiative. All students across the College will have access to this learning space.

Phase one of the ELC outdoor area redevelopment has taken place, with extensions to the play area, a new deck and some new landscaping having taken place. Later in the term we will install new play equipment, a water play area and soft fall. Work will begin shortly on the new multipurpose hard courts near the Ezzy Centre as we are just awaiting the Development Application to be approved. Plans are well underway for the refurbishment of three classrooms in the ST Building into a third Science Lab, a Senior Common Room as well as the addition of some student welfare offices. I am also pleased to say that we have formally commenced the process to build Stage 2 of the Primary Classroom project and submitted a grant application expression of interest.
