Swing and sing with Dean Doyle as he performs with the EAC Senior Concert Band at the EAC 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner.
Dean Doyle started his musical career in his early teens singing and playing drums in an old time family dance band in dance halls around Gympie in Queensland. In 1987, Dean was accepted as a trombone player (and later vocalist) in the Australian Army Band. He transferred to RAAF Central Band Melbourne in 1996 and in 2000 went part time and began a five year classical voice and teaching double degree at Melbourne University. In 2006, after graduating Dean and his family settled in Ballina, where he has taught classroom music and has tutored both brass and voice students.
Dean’s main musical focus over the last 10 years has been performing the popular Morning Melodies and Sunday Sessions with his fabulous trio, Dean Doyle with Sophistication.
The Cath Simes Band will entertain guests with hits from the 60’s thru to current chart toppers. Fronting the band with excellent delivery and vivacious presence on and off stage, it is no surprise singer Cath Simes is surrounded by such a brilliant calibre of musicians. Some of the East Coast’s finest are Jamie Sullivan on Bass and male lead vocals, Connor Cleary on guitar/vocals and Scott Hills on Drums/vocals. The band has been together for over ten years and knows how to get a crowd rocking!

As well as being a wonderful evening of celebration, the dinner will also form part of the College’s major fundraising activities in 2018. All proceeds from the dinner will support the construction of a 1000 seat Multi Purpose Centre that will include a stage, two indoor courts, fitness centre, dance space and amenities. Among the many benefits such a facility will provide for our students, a centre such as this will provide a space for our College community to gather. We hope to be opening this centre in 2020.
If you would like to contribute to the dinner by way of sponsorship or donation of prizes, please contact the event organisers to discuss available opportunities:
